                        Two years ago I wrote " Six Days From Now ", which talks about the things I want to achieve after I quit my job in a BPO company. Well, here I am again after quitting my job in a government agency. The past two years had been a whirlwind experience and this is what happened after I wrote Six Days from Now.            On the night of my last day at work, I was offered an online job. Since it is homebased and accounting related, I accepted it immediately. We transferred at my husband's cousin place since our internet is not that stable. Things run smoothly for a week, when my former co-worker informed me that a government agency is looking for an accountant. Six days to go and I will be officially resigned from my current job. It has been three years that I had been with the company  that I finally decided that it is time to let it go. There are a lot of things in this world than work. I will only live once and I should do things worth living for. So I will list down the things I will do six days from now of which some of the things work deprived me to do  before. There are a lot of  plans in my mind right now. One thing is for sure, I have to look for another job. My job was okay, it pays well along with overtime, meals and taxi refund but there is something wrong with it. It requires a lot of time that I do not have enough time anymore to socialize, study and spend more time with my family. For several months already, I was consistently going home from 8PM to 12PM when office hours should end at 6PM. I think I am not living a healthy life. After working for this company for almost three years, it is only now that I was able to have that realization. Maybe what triggers it is because despite all my efforts, my superior thinks it is still not enough. Well on my side, I have given enough already and that at this point of time I was still lucky to have a loyal husband who withstand my job despite going home late and not being able to fulfill some duties as a wife. My vacation leaves are not monetized so I better use it. I filed for a two-day leave just enough for me to take a rest so as my work would not be affected. I have not planned much for this vacation. I just went home to the province to spend some time with my husband and my family. I've got a chance to visit my father's tomb before his birthday and death anniversary. I also been able to attend a Sunday service in my home church. I also never miss the chance to have a  whole body "hilot" or massage. It is a way to correct the position of the ovary. I also been able to visit our neighboring towns despite the bomb threats but it was ok. Though I did not spend my vacation on a beach or any tourist destinations, I am happy to spend it with my husband and my family in a simple way. I was able to take a rest and been able to relax my eyes and mind from work. Looking forward for my next vacation. ;)

There are certain things in life that we want for ourselves but not given. Later on  we would realize the reason why it was not given which is for us to be a better person.  I received a sadden news today. I was not accepted in the government agency where I applied a couple of months ago. All this time I thought I was only waiting for an appointment letter because I already submitted my employee requirements and done a series of interviews. Only up to this day that I have known that my batch mate was already accepted and had been reporting to the office assigned for one month already. She said that they repeated the whole process a couple of months ago but only few of them was called to do so. Maybe because of the new head that was assigned or because of some other reasons why it was repeated. We are now bigger with additional people and bigger space for our company. It was almost two years since I had been employed in that company. Back then we are only eight with four translators in three different foreign languages and four analyst. Now we are twenty analyzing financial   statements coming from almost thirty countries in six foreign languages. Some addition to our team were translators that are online tutors in foreign language and some came from the business industry and were all young. It is good to know that the company is expanding and continuing its operation. Being in a BPO industry, job security is not attainable but I am hopeful it would be. In my almost two years in the company I could say, I had been there during its lowest and highest point. I was there when the former company was closed and a new company was formed. It rained heavily yesterday and it brought me a very unforgettable experience. I came out early from the office that night. On the way home is to pass a mall. Since I was planning to buy a new shoes I pass by inside the mall and bought it. When I was at the exit of the mall, it was raining already that I hesitated to go out but rather stayed inside the mall and had dinner. I was so eager to go home that I even had my dessert to be taken out. When I was in the exit again I noticed that the rain is still pouring heavily. So I decided to wait inside the mall for the rain to stop. When after almost one hour of waiting, I decide that even if the rain did not stop I will try my luck to be able to take a ride and go home. Outside the mall, a lot of passengers are waiting for a ride, but there is no jeepney or taxi. The mall is already closed so I decided to go back to the office since it is near the mall. Creepy stories were talked about lately in our office. Our office is a house instead of a corporate building. There is a story that the previous owner of the house committed suicide in one of the rest rooms in the house. Recently the caretaker of the house, who was also our messenger, told us that around four in the morning he was able to find fresh blood in the spiral staircase of the house and someone was keep on whistling. It was a mystery if where did the blood came from since the people present on the house during those times was him and his son. Since then, a lot of stories came out from the experiences of the employees. There were stories that an employee's child is talking alone to a child whom they do not know, an employee who was on a midnight shift took a nap and dreamed of a little child and there had been marks of a child's hands on the one of the rest rooms.      My superior offered me a job opportunity today. It is not really a promotion but a job position to head another project. It was not only offered to me but I showed my interest to it. It is a bookkeeping job with foreign clients. After my superior told it to us I really told her that I am really interested with the job for I want to learn more and experienced bookkeeping. I tried bookkeeping before and I loved it. I do not know what lies ahead. Whatever maybe the result of this, I know it will be according to God's plan for me. 

        The recent departure of my husband’s niece to Denmark and the arrival from Dubai of a former co-worker brought some thoughts to ponder for me. Aside from these two, my brother, my cousins, my neighbour and some of my classmates in college and high school are in foreign countries. Many people think that foreign countries offer greener pasture. They believe that working abroad could provide them higher salary and it could be the way for them to uplift their way of living from what was here in the Philippines. Sadly more and more people are working abroad. Mostly are talented professionals like doctors, teachers, accountants, nurses and engineers that used their talents for the benefit of other countries. True to others, working abroad really changed their lives for the better.       Looking for a part-time jobs was a bit difficult but there are a lot of sources where we could find one. In the internet, newspaper, job posting and even news from friends could give us the part time jobs we want. I for one considers blogging as a part time job. Blogging was introduced to me by a friend and was able to know more about it through the help of some websites in the internet. I was not earning much but at least I earn some money from it.     Aside from blogging there are also other types of part-time jobs to choose from. My office mates for one considers to offer their services to those who want to buy dissertation . It is a long type of work because it involves a process starting out with research but of course it would entails high pay for this type of job.      Tutorial is also a good type of part-time job.      I am not a risk taker and I always wanted to be on my comfort zones. I would like to decide on things wherein I have clearer view on what lies ahead rather than putting myself on a vague future. Even when I am still in college, I am so afraid to fail that even in writing college paper I still have to research on books about it or look on some websites like college-paper.org  for some tips. I am so afraid to take some risks that I take some advises from other people when I am making decisions. That is why I admire my co-worker who had been a risk taker.  At a young age she worked alone in the USA. She already visited several countries all by herself. Now, she is resigning from a high paying job to work in Manila as a sales agent hoping for greater opportunities. Well there is this concept on investments that states, the higher the risk , the higher the income. I wish my co-worker all the luck she needs. Go girl!

          It has been almost three years since I passed my licensure exam. I admit at this stage it was a bit hard to remember the principles I reviewed before especially when my work does not really much tackle everything  I have learned from my review. Now that my co-employees is reviewing for his licensure exam, he sometimes asked me some questions about the topics they discussed in their review.  It showed me how much I was stacked up with my knowledge in accounting, auditing, law and taxation. I was trying to refresh my knowledge in it when I created a blog about it. I was also planning to conduct online tutoring to keep myself updated with the latest info as well as refresh my knowledge about it. Aside from that it would also be considered as an extra income.  It would also be a great help to students and reviewees because it would be accessible through the internet and the tutor hours would be flexible with consideration to their vacant ...

     It has been months now since I was given the task to send email notifications to our foreign clients. It is a good opportunity for me to harness my communications skills through writing.  It was not that hard enough for there are already pro forma written notifications for it like custom essays that need minimal revisions. There are also times that there are no pro forma statements to it that I have to careful choose my words in expressing my thoughts, questions or notifications. The email notifications should be concise, understandable and should not in any way offend the client. Luckily I was able to have clients that are very understanding and could easily grasp what I wanted to say in the messages I have sent.      One year had passed by since the day I  started working on my second employer. Time runs so fast that I barely notice it. Maybe I feel that way because I love what I am doing. I never felt under paid, stressed out or full of back loads at work. I also like the companionship and friendship offered by my co workers. There is no demanding, strict or angry boss yelling at me. Each day passes smoothly wherein I could still deliver my work diligently. I hope things would continue to run smoothly the way I like it. I am now looking forward on using my vacation leaves and hoping for more anniversaries to come at work.

           I was so happy that my problem in Microsoft Excel was already solved. I value my time a lot that  I hesitated in referring my Excel problem to our IT because it might take a lot of hours. I already informed my team leader about it and she emailed our London base client regarding my problem with their programs in Excel. We got a reply instantly but the only suggested action was to close and open the Excel. I have tried it but it won't work. I could not download a statement and it would not copy paste formulas. I left nothing to do about it but to ask my co-employee to download the statement for me and send it to me. It has been like that for a couple of days. Then one day, I thought of searching in the Internet the solution to my problem. Thankfully, Google Search suggested a lot of sites. In one of the sites, the suggestion was to uninstall my Skype Click to Call plug in. I tried it and it works. I could now copy and paste formulas in Micro...

        Pearl Farm was our suggested place for our team building. At first, we thought it would never be approved because it is quite expensive at 2,500 pesos per person. Thank God, it was approved by our BPO Head who was currently at Barcelona who at same time appreciated our initiative to do so. Since we haven't had issues to resolve, it became more of a company outing than a team building activity. It was my first time in Pearl Farm and I was amazed by the beauty and luxury of it. It was amazing how they combined native and modern design of cottages. The beach and their infinity pool is very conducive for swimming. The white sand beaches and the delicious food is too good to forget. Thank you Amicorp for the free getaway!

       At last, after seven Saturday meetings our MBA summer class is finally over. Another nine units will be added to my MBA credentials. Though, I sacrificed my rest day, travels and leisure that I could do every Saturday, I know that time will come my MBA units will be very useful to me. I enjoyed so much my summer class and it also added my list of friends. Most important thing is that I learned a lot. From prodman subject to human behavior, there are a lot of things to be noted that is very applicable to the workplace as well as personal lives. Good time management had been very essential to me when I am having my summer class. I have to divide my time to my work, my husband, my family and my studies. Before, I usually go home to our province twice a month but since I have my classes every Saturday, my husband has been traveling instead in order for us to have time with each other.         God is really so good. Few days ago, I received a memo that I have an 8% increase adjustment in my salary. Aside from that I already passed my probationary status and I am now a regular employee. This is really a blessing. I never expected that the company would give this adjustment in a short span of time. Thank you Lord for this blessing.

        Until now, I still don't know what causes my ring finger to swell. I just woke up in the middle of the night that my finger is aching. Even a simple touch, badly hurts. My husband decided that I must take a one day leave in my work so that my fingers could relax for a while. I let it to be massage just in case there are affected nerves that must be corrected. The woman who massaged it told me that it might have been bitten by an insect and that it is just an allergic reaction.  Someone also told us that it might have some wounds and that a tiny foreign object is still in there that might causes the swelling. I am inspecting it very carefully but I couldn't find even a tiny wound on it. Another person told us that it might be an arthritis in the fingers that is why it is swelling. Even if I don't know what causes the swelling, I just took tablets of Amoxicillin and put hot compress on it. Thank God, after a day of swelling it returned back to its normal ...
